Mahoney Creek was
apparently named after Daniel Mahoney. He is
found listed in the Kane County Gazeteer of
1867, which includes directories from the
various cities of Kane County. Mahoney's
occupation is listed as "teamster" and his home
is listed as being on O'Connell Street.
